Last year 60 Y8 students had the opportunity to visit Manchester University for a city campus tour and engage with DELL Technologies to explore their employability skills and discuss careers of the future. The whole cohort visited the NHS Careers Fair at the Doncaster Dome where they learned about the careers available in the National Health Service at each entry point of the system and discussed these opportunities with employers from the local area.

Y10 and Y11 students also had the opportunity to take part in virtual work experience and speak to employers in the Health and Social Care sector and we enable students to explore Further Education opportunities by holding taster sessions at Doncaster New College, Doncaster College and North Notts College as well as visiting Lincoln University to understand how their qualifications give access to further education opportunities and to understand what a degree is and explore whether it is the right next step for them.

All Y9 students visited MAGNA to engage with employers in the Leisure and Tourism sector and also visited one of the biggest STEM careers fairs in the U.K at the Birmingham N.E.C. Arena to interact with employers from across the country. We also provided the opportunity for upper KS3 and KS4 students (Y9 and Y10) to visit Sheffield University and Oxford university to explore what Further Education looks like at different locations around the country.
